Earl Bostic was an american alto-saxophonist who was probably the most successfull musisian of his time at the interface of Jazz, R&B and dance music. In serious jazz-business he was never completely accepted because of his commercial ambitions. „Bambostic“ deals with the extremely virtuoso and arty side of his music, which compares to the skills of for example Charlie Parker. One can not deny, that his music wanted to please, it lives from its showmanship and was always meant to be music for dance.

But today, where jazz becomes more and more bourgeois and polished, Bostic´s music has a vital and almost uncompromising effect. His striking compositions, that are fresh, simple and straight forward function as a statement, a wake-up call.
